DESCRIPTION:Please bring your cookies to school at drop-off.  We would love to have donations of 45 cookies\, but will gladly take less (and happily take more)! Naturally\, homemade are the best\, but we appreciate whatever you can manage. \nWe will have a table set up near the gym and will also be on the lookout for those of you coming through the drive-thru bearing cookies. \nNote: Shoe boxes\, plastic food containers or other some other type of hard-walled container work great for packaging and transporting and do a better job of keeping cookies intact than zip-lock bags. \nWe also need a handful of volunteers to assemble and distribute the platters. We will meet in the multi-purpose room between 8:00 – 8:15 on Thursday\, December 17. We should be done by 9:30 or 10:00. Please contact Kristy Williams if you can help.

DESCRIPTION:We are excited to announce a special opportunity for students aged 8 to 12 years old. \nThe Friends of Loomis Library & Loomis Basin Chamber of Commerce are partnering with a local tech startup PodPi and non profit Kids Electronics Lab 2.0 to test a product that’s being developed for the market. Check out PodPi for more information. The developer has been hosting and creating STE@M programs for kids through the Hacker Lab for several years. \nWe are hosting a group of 20 kids for a fun\, hands on STE@M based workshop at the Loomis library on Sat\, Oct 10th. Online registration is required and space availability will be first come – first serve. The only requirement is each participant needs to have filled out a library survey. \nThis is a free event and tentatively scheduled between the hours of 10am to 2pm. If there is high demand\, we’ll split it into two sessions:\n10am -12pm & 12pm – 2pm to accommodate more kids. \nSIGN UP
